Francis Shin is a Research Assistant on secondment from the Future of Financial Intelligence Sharing programme to RUSI’s Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies. He joined in July 2021 after completing a Master in International Affairs at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. His master’s dissertation was on the increasing usage of the SWIFT network in international sanctions regimes.
Francis is also currently the 2021 Geostrategy & Financial Diplomacy Fellow at the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy programme. He has previously worked as the Joseph S. Nye Jr. research intern in the Energy, Economics, and Security programme at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). He has additionally interned at the United Nations Office at Geneva and the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START).
