Biography
Lucy Fisher is a journalist, broadcaster and author. She is Whitehall Editor at the Financial Times and host of the FT’s weekly Political Fix podcast. She specialises in covering UK foreign and defence policy, and has interviewed British prime ministers, chancellors, foreign and defence secretaries.Â
A regular guest on the BBC and Sky News, she appears on shows including the Today programme, Westminster Hour, Newsnight, Any Questions, Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg and Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips.
She has reported from around the world, including Washington and Brussels, as well as Afghanistan and the Arctic Circle. Previously, she was Defence Editor and Chief Political Correspondent at The Times, and Deputy Political Editor at The Daily Telegraph. She was chair of the Parliamentary Press Gallery in 2024.
Her most recent book, Women in the War: The Last Heroines of Britain’s Greatest Generation, was published in September 2021 by HarperCollins. Lucy’s first book, the biography Emily Wilding Davison: The Martyr Suffragette, was published in 2018.
