Dr Marc Parker

Associate Fellow; Counter-terrorist financing expert

Biography

With a background in UK law enforcement and national security intelligence operations, Dr Marc Parker has twenty-five years’ experience in counter-terrorism and combating transnational organised crime. He has extensive domestic and international experience working with numerous agencies and multi-disciplinary teams.

In addition, he has considerable experience as an operational portfolio lead on counter terrorist financing. He has briefed and lectured widely on the subject to law enforcement, intelligence agencies, government ministers and the military in the UK as well as colleagues in Europe and policymakers in the United States.

Dr Parker holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrews. His professional development included a period of study in the United States, where he attended Harvard University.

He is an alumnus of the Kennedy School Executive Leadership Programme. He has been a strong advocate of targeted financial and open-source intelligence to assist with wider national security and counterterrorism operations and has published several papers on the subject.

Dr Parker is a member of the Project CRAAFT Peer Review Board, a collaborative multidisciplinary CTF initiative led by RUSI Europe and funded by the European Union.
