Land Warfare
We assess how land forces train and fight in contemporary conflict and how they plan to operate over the coming two decades.
Our research aims to assess evidence from contemporary and historical operations to understand how armies will need to fight in the future. The project examines force organisation, equipment, doctrine, operational analysis, and external forces shaping the future operating environment.
RUSI's land warfare research is conducted with support from the British Army and in collaboration with partners including the Association of the United States Army. It aims to provide evidence to inform the modernisation of land forces and to help commanders better understand how adversaries are likely to seek advantage and exploit weaknesses.
