Major General (Ret) Bill Robins CB OBE led tactical communications in airborne, mechanized and armoured formations of the British Army. He commanded the Army’s Electronic Warfare Regiment in the early 80s, defined the requirement for the UK Government protected Crisis Management Centre and drove the Joint Command Systems Initiative to help the RN, Army and RAF work together more effectively.
He runs his own Defence and Security consultancy, BRL, since 2003, working with clients including MOD, BAE Systems, Airbus, Nortel, MooD International and Systematic. He is a Senior Associate Fellow of RUSI.
He ran the UK arm of the Californian Space and Cyber firm, Viasat, from late 2017 to early 2019 and remains an advisor to the firm.
