UK Nuclear Policy and Programmes
RUSI conducts research and convenes discussions on the UK’s nuclear weapons programme, its nuclear policy, and its approach to non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament.
We cover a broad range of UK nuclear issues, from programmatic aspects of the UK deterrent to the UK’s role in the global nuclear order. Current topics include the UK’s replacement nuclear warhead programme, and allied views of the UK as an actor in non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament.
RUSI hosts the UK Project on Nuclear Issues (UK PONI), a cross-generational network encouraging young professionals to engage with established experts on nuclear issues. UK PONI aims to develop the next generation of experts and build a diverse knowledge base for the nuclear community, from technical intricacies to international security dynamics.
