“Trump could change tack on support to Ukraine and his position on Russia,” Ed Arnold, a European security analyst at the Royal United Services Institute think-tank in London, said. “Zelensky has said that he wouldn’t personally negotiate with Putin, but if there’s enough pressure he might change that policy. But given where Russia and Ukraine are, there’s very little that they could potentially negotiate on.”
