FIGHTER JETS

quote

Justin Bronk, an airpower researcher at the Rusi defence think tank, said giving the planes to Kyiv made “little military sense”. He said Typhoons were ill-equipped to fly at the low altitudes necessary to avoid Russian air defences and that they would require larger Ukrainian air bases which would prove an easy target for Russian missiles. He added that Typhoons could be a “symbolic silver bullet” that would unlock the delivery of Swedish-made Gripen jets to Ukraine, which are better suited to Kyiv’s needs.
