Ukraine has also received 14 British-made Challenger 2 tanks and is getting 31 US-built M1A1 Abrams tanks, the first of which arrived in late September. Keeping those Western-supplied armored vehicles in action could become a challenge. While Russian fire often immobilizes rather than destroys them, "rebuilding them demands a consistent provision of spare parts," the Royal United Services Institute, a British think tank, said in a recent report. That means Western countries "need to ensure that the industrial support is available to make the Ukrainian military sustainable," the report said.
