Jack Watling, research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, a think tank, said that Starstreak was a "very capable defence system", but it was probably the hardest of all the donated weapons to use. He said that British soldiers using it usually pired a thousand in the simulator before they qualified. "The Ukrainians don't have a simulator and can't fire them in training because they would burn through all the ammunition", he said. "That's what we've got on the shelves, but it's not a very good missile to hand people who don't have a training pipeline."
