UK intelligence urged to step up AI use to counter cyber threats

Alexander Babuta, a research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute and author of the report, said it was “safe to assume that hostile actors will use AI to attack us in a number of ways and undermine our security”. “As digital devices proliferate and [with] the growth of the internet of things and smart cities, those risks are only going to multiply,” Mr Babuta told the FT. “If we don't put the infrastructure in place to ensure that the national security community can innovate and adapt in a controlled way, there's a risk that we won’t be able to keep pace with other hostile actors.”
