Bob Walsh

Biography

Bob Walsh is the Global Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Financial Crime Officer of Paris-based AXA Group. AXA operates insurance businesses around the world and is one of the largest insurers in the maritime sector.

Bob’s activities outside of AXA include chairing the Sanctions in Insurance Roundtable (comprised of the world’s largest commercial insurers, reinsurers and brokers plus the Lloyds insurance market and the International Group of P&I Clubs) and being an Advisory Board member of the Association of Certified Sanctions Specialists. Previous activities include UN Security Council private sector roundtable meetings on the maritime sector, the FATF committee that developed AML guidance for the insurance sector, and the US Bank Secrecy Act Advisory Group.

Bob has his JD from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, an MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada and a degree in political science from McGill University in Montreal.
