Biography

Dr Medeiros is a Business Development Manager for BAE Systems in Brazil. In this role, he supports the negotiation and delivery of projects in the land, naval, air and cyber domains.

He holds a PhD in Military Sciences from the Brazilian Army’s General Staff and Command College (ECEME) and a master’s degree in Maritime Studies from the Brazilian Naval War College (EGN). He graduated from the Fluminense Federal University with a BA in International Relations.

Dr Medeiros has authored articles and book chapters in the subjects of defence industry, strategic acquisitions, offset management, and technology transfer. His academic interests also include civil-military relations and how they influence defence acquisition, industrial policy, commonality of materiel and interoperability.

Prior to joining BAE Systems, he served for three years as the Brazil Country Manager for UK Defence and Security Exports (UKDSE), based in the British Consulate-General in Rio de Janeiro.

Before that, he worked for five years in consulting firms in the strategy, sales and compliance functions – having delivered projects in the defence, aerospace, oil and gas, and financial services sectors. He was also an external contributor to Jane’s, working in the firm’s business consultancy and special publications divisions.
