Irina is a Russia Sanctions Implementation Project Officer at Centre for Finance and Security at RUSI. She works on the implementation of Russia sanctions initiatives, including the SIFMANet (European Sanctions and Illicit Finance Monitoring and Analysis Network). She spearheads outreach, convenes the private sector, and organizes CFS Russian sanctions workshops in Europe and across the globe.Â
Prior to joining RUSI, Irina served as a Programme Manager at the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), coordinating EU funded large-scale project on elections, voter education and disinformation. She has also gained experience at the European Parliament, where she worked on the EU membership candidate statuses of Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova. Additionally, Irina conducted research at the UK House of Commons on mechanisms for confiscating Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine. She has also worked at the US Embassy in Tbilisi and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
Irina holds a BSc in International Relations from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. She was awarded a Chevening Scholarship from the FCDO and earned her MA in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from City University of London.
