Dominic Bethencourt-Smith

Dominic heads the strategic services team at AWE, responsible for developing strategy on behalf of the Executive, improving strategic stakeholder relationships and analysis of political and geo-political impacts on AWE’s work. He has worked there since 2017, following a career in business development in education, health and defence, and has engaged with UK PONI since entering the defence nuclear sector.

During AWE’s transition to becoming a Non-Departmental Public Body, Dominic worked with the MOD to overcome cultural and relationship challenges to integration, which were covered at a previous UK PONI conference. Dominic sponsors the Broader Perspectives on Nuclear Issues group at AWE, which support early and mid career participants to contribute to UK PONI.
