Biography

Isabella is a Research Fellow in the Defence, Industries and Society Research Group.

Prior to joining RUSI, she worked as a researcher at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) where she analysed the European Union’s (EU) defence and security policies, intra-European defence industrial cooperation as well as cooperation between the EU and third states in this field.

Isabella holds an MA in International Conflict Studies from Kings College London’s Department of War Studies, where she carried out a research project for Ministry of Defence (MoD) on the challenges of introducing autonomous technologies in Defence. Her dissertation examined how extra-regional political actors influence the ability of regional organisations to provide effective security governance within their supposed regional space. Isabella also holds a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University.

Her research interests include UK defence and security, post-Brexit UK-EU relations, the European security architecture and transatlantic cooperation.
