The war in Ukraine will have repercussions for security in the Indo-Pacific, says Veerle Nouwens, Senior Research Fellow, International Security Studies.

In this video commentary, Veerle explains that countries across the region – particularly those with trade links to Russia and Ukraine – will need to manage disrupted supply chains and the directly linked economic costs. There is also a wider question of how alliances and partnerships in the region are being put to the test, with some countries like India avoiding condemning Russia's actions, while others – such as Japan, Singapore and South Korea – have joined sanctions against Russia.
