The third UK-Hungarian Chain Bridge Forum was held on 3rd April in Budapest, Hungary.

The third UK-Hungarian Chain Bridge Forum was held on 3rd April in Budapest, Hungary. This flagship bilateral forum was organised jointly between the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA) and RUSI. 

The Forum centred around five discussion panels and provided a formal opportunity to discuss shared challenges and opportunities in foreign policy, economic and social issues. led by policy experts, industry representatives, academics, and decision makers, topics under discussion included the Russia-Ukraine war, Asia-Pacific, energy security and Roma inclusion.

The goal of this cooperative format is to provide a policy platform for discussion and exchange amongst Hungarian and British decision-makers, and representatives of civil society. 

Held at the headquarters of HIIA, the forum was opened by H.E. Paul Fox, His Majesty’s Ambassador to Hungary, H.E. Ferenc Kumin, Ambassador of Hungary to the UK, and Gladden Pappin, President of the HIIA. It was co-chaired by Márton Ugrósdy, Deputy State Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister’s Political Director, and Chris Halliday, Chris Halliday, Deputy Director for Russia/Ukraine at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
