Belarus supporting Russia
Belarus and Russia have been close for many years, it was probably Russia's closest ally when the Soviet Union fell apart. They have got a range of framework agreements between the two of them that allow them to operate politically, economically and militarily in tandem. What happened in 2020 in Belarus was really a trigger for much closer relationship with Russia, where you had presidential elections, which in Belarus are not free and fair of course, and the fact that Lukashenko won was very much a foregone conclusion. The security services very violently repressed demonstrators, thousands of people were arrested and there was very serious allegations of torture.
