Opinion: Biden’s great military disaster is only getting more dangerous

Three years ago, the two decades-long US military intervention in Afghanistan came to an ignominious end. On August 15 2021, Taliban forces overran Kabul and re-established the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Later, despite President Biden’s pledge to bring Americans home, a suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport on August 26 killed 11 US Marines and 170 Afghan civilians. Four days afterwards, the last American forces fled and the Taliban declared victory on the suicide bombing site.
