Gulf warms to Israel as attack on UAE underscores common threats

Samuel Ramani, a U.K.-based associate fellow with the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies, reckons the decision to normalize with Israel "was largely unpopular in the UAE and Bahrain. But it triggered little outward resistance, much like the similarly unpopular decision of both countries to normalize with [Bashar] Assad's regime in Syria."
