Hostile state hackers blamed for most cyber attacks on UK

Ewan Lawson, a cyber security analyst with the Royal United Services Institute think-tank said the volume of attacks over the past two years looked “significant” but added: “The problem is that the casual use of ‘cyber attacks’ means that it has covered everything from the use of bots on social media, through website defacement and D-DOS [directed denial of service attack] to cyber-enabled fraud and on to cyber physical disruptive incidents.”
