Professor Trevor Taylor, of the Royal United Services Institute, said tensions and conflict around the world meant an increase in defence sales was “scarcely surprising”... “Equipment costs are going up and the trend is not abating," he told The Independent.“US defence budgets have been constrained since 2011 by the Budget Control Act, but in much of the rest of world there have been pressures to increase defence spending.”
