Britain’s newest warships at risk from Chinese

Dr Sidharth Kaushal, research fellow in sea power at the Royal United Services Institute, a London-based think tank, said if the Chinese have developed the ability to target missiles like the DF 21-D in combat scenarios, with improved and resilient tracking systems, it “really would be a game-changing technology”. He added that the cost of these missiles, at around £25 million each, compared with the cost of any western carrier, at several billion pounds, means “firing crew can afford a few misses, but the carrier can only afford the one hit”.
