Germany’s Close Relationship with Russia and its Consequences for Europe

Just as Europe is becoming more unified, and the continent’s divisions seem to have been finally erased, a big question mark now hangs over Germany’s foreign policy: especially the country’s attitude towards Russia, and the implications of German-Russian links on former communist countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The Baltic States, Poland and the Czech Republic feel neglected and overlooked by Germany’s close relationship with Russia.
