In June 2024, RUSI’s Centre for Finance and Security set up the UK Sanctions Implementation and Strategy Taskforce. This report presents findings from the second meeting of the Taskforce, held in October 2024.
This report presents findings from the second meeting of the UK Sanctions Implementation and Strategy Taskforce, held in October 2024. The discussion aimed to identify opportunities to optimise the use of existing sanctions regimes and enhance the effectiveness of sanctions as a strategic tool. Members provided a list of recommendations for the UK to develop a strategy which not only sends a clear signal of UK priorities, but also has a tangible impact.
