Recording: Women in Global Leadership: A Conversation with Dame Menna Rawlings
To mark International Women’s Day, Her Excellency Dame Menna Rawlings, the UK’s Ambassador to France, discusses her experience and her varied career in His Majesty’s Diplomatic Service.
As the first woman to take up the post of Ambassador to France – the first man was appointed to the position in 1814 – Dame Menna will offer her thoughts on social mobility and women in global leadership.
Prior to taking up her current appointment in August 2021, Her Excellency Dame Menna Rawlings DCMG was Director-General Economic and Global Issues at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) from March 2019 to August 2020. She served as High Commissioner to Australia from April 2015 to February 2019, and had a wide range of other diplomatic service roles since joining the FCO in 1989.
