Women make up over 30% of all UK Heads of Missions, filling key posts including those in the US and China. They also play leading roles in multilateral organisations.
The High Commissioner discusses the role of women in foreign policymaking and diplomacy, current trends in diplomatic leadership, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by female diplomats.

Her Excellency Jane Marriott CMG OBE
Her Excellency Jane Marriott CMG OBE was appointed British High Commissioner to Pakistan in July 2023. Prior to taking up her current appointment, she was British High Commissioner to Kenya (2019–23) and Ambassador to Yemen (2013–15). Ms Marriott joined the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in 2001 following roles in the Cabinet Office and Home Office.
