Overview

For centuries, women have played a critical role in diplomacy, yet their contributions have often been overlooked. Today, women make up over 40% of all UK Heads of Missions and play leading roles in multilateral organisations.

The Ambassador will explore women’s participation in diplomacy, delving into both the challenges and opportunities for women at all levels of decision-making and complex international negotiations. She will also discuss the role that diplomatic academies and think tanks can play in advancing visibility and empowering women to pursue careers in diplomacy.

The conversation was moderated by Dr Emma De Angelis, Director, Special Projects, RUSI.
