Terrorists on trial: the media reaction
4 June 2007
Five men, arrested in 2004, have recently been convicted of planning to bomb civilian targets in the UK. During the trial it emerged that some of the men responsible for the 7 July 2005 London bombings had been known to this group and had come under surveillance as part of the same operation but were dismissed. The public and the media are now asking why the 7 July 2005 bombers were allowed to ‘get away’ and why it has taken so long for the links to be made public.
