Securing the G8 Summit

Hosting the annual G8 summit requires complex security planning to counter threats from various terrorist organisations and militant pressure groups. In the run-up to the 2007 conference, which will take place in a small German resort town, ID cards have been introduced for the local population and restrictions have been made on their movements. German authorities have also been sharing experience and best practice with recent host nations, including the UK.
