RUSI Congratulates RUSI’s President, HRH The Duke of Kent, on his 85th Birthday

His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent KG, GCMG, GCVO, ADC, became President of RUSI in 1975. The Institute has seen remarkable transformation during his 45 year tenure. 
 
Writing his congratulatory letter on behalf of the staff, trustees and the membership of RUSI, Sir David Lidington, Chair of the Institute, remarked: 
 
“You agreed to serve as our President at a time when our staff were a mere handful, and they conducted their business on manual typewriters. You are currently presiding over a thriving institution with 100 employees, which is now delivering most of its activities online. We are particularly grateful that you have been with us at every step, and that you still participate in many of our activities including - most recently - our webinars.”
