Admiral of the Fleet Sir Julian Oswald

It is with much sadness the Institute announces Sir Julian Oswald, Admiral of the Fleet, inspirational First Sea Lord during the 1991 Gulf War and Vice-Patron of RUSI, died on 19 July 2011 aged 77.

At RUSI we shall miss his many valued contributions, very much. On behalf of everyone associated with the Institute, our thoughts are with Sir Julian's wife and five children.
