Dr Rhodri Williams
Dr. Rhodri Williams was appointed Chief of Staff of AIG in February 2016. He is responsible for advancing the agenda of the President and CEO of AIG, ensuring that his priorities are established, communicated and actioned, and supporting his engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Rhodri joined AIG in June 2013 and was most recently Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs, EMEA, responsible for leading the development and execution of communications and public affairs strategies for the region. He was the main communications adviser to the regional leadership team. Previously, Rhodri was Head of Public Affairs, EMEA, responsible for developing the company’s approach to thought leadership and corporate citizenship.
Before joining AIG, Rhodri was a British diplomat whose 23-year career included postings in Austria and Jordan and a wide range of senior UK-based Foreign Office roles. Rhodri is a graduate of the UK government’s Top Management Programme and the Ashridge Leadership Process, and in 2011 was FCO Fellow at the London School of Economics IDEAS.
Rhodri has a first class Bachelor of Arts degree and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Oxford University, where he was a Fellow and Tutor in Modern History at St Peter’s College from 1985 to 1990. He was educated at the United World College of the Atlantic and Olchfa School, Swansea.
