Professor Norman Mugarura

Biography

Dr Mugarura is an Associate Professor and Dean, Faculty of Law at Bishop Stuart University, Uganda. From April 2013 to April 2017, he was employed as an Honorary Law Lecturer and Dissertation Advisor at Laureate Online Education, University of Liverpool. Dr Mugarura also briefly served as the Subject Matter Expert for an International Money Laundering Module, LLM Degree Programme at the University of Liverpool.

He currently sits as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Anti-Corruption (JACL), University of Western Cape, South Africa. Since 2010, he has served as a researcher and founding member of the Global Action Research and Development Initiative Ltd. He holds five academic degrees including a PhD obtained in the United Kingdom. His PhD (financial crime regulation) was written on ‘The Global anti-Money Laundering Framework and its Jurisdictional Limits’ at the School of Law and Social Sciences, University of East London (2012). Dr Mugarura also holds certificates in Business Studies, Education and Computing. He is a qualified Fellow of the London Institute of Paralegals, has completed a fellowship at the British Institute of International Comparative Law (BIICL) and is a recognised teacher from the University of Liverpool.
