Monty Mountford

Monty Mountford has had a diverse 34 year military career, including posts in most major intelligence functions, plus a few niche ones for good measure. He has worked in roles from front-line operations to Whitehall and points in between. He is a a graduate of the Joint Services Command and Staff College and was appointed OBE in 2013.
Monty left the Regular Army in 2012 and transferred to the Army Reserve, serving in a specialist intelligence unit until 2022. In 2014 he resumed his academic journey by joining the Marine Learning Alliance College as an associate lecturer, and as a designer and developer of distance learning material.
Monty joined De Montfort University (DMU) in 2018 as an Associate Lecturer and has undertaken a number of roles in the Apprentices Group since then. In 2019 he was invited to join a collaborative project looking at Serious and Organised Crime and working alongside police colleagues from the East Midlands; a fabulous launch pad for what was to come when, in Oct 2022, he began his next adventure as a full-time PhD student at DMU.
