Biography

Roy McComb is a former Detective Chief Superintendent in the Police Service of Northern Ireland. As a nationally accredited Senior Investigating Officer, he led investigations into terrorism, major crime (homicide etc.) and serious organised crime, including corruption, money laundering, drugs and human trafficking. He led the PSNI response to multiple Public Inquiries involving allegation of Police criminality.

As Head of Organised Crime, he managed all the organised crime threats, including transnational threats in Northern Ireland, particularly those involving the Irish border. He was a member of the government led Organised Crime Task Force and represented Northern Ireland on the national programme boards for criminal use of drugs, firearms and organised crime.

Most recently, he was a Deputy Director in the National Crime Agency where he held roles as head of the Organised Crime Command, Specialist Investigations, Modern Slavery/Human Trafficking and most recently Child Exploitation & Online Protection. He established the UK Protected Persons Service, uniting regional Police capabilities into one national service.
