Mina Gerowin
Biography
Currently Ms Gerowin is a Director of CNH Industrial NV and Lafarge SA. Formerly she served as a Director of EXOR SpA and a member of the Global Advisory Committee of Samsung Asset Management.
Previously Ms Gerowin joined Paulson & Co. helping establish the hedge fund's Event fund and leading the firm’s large European active investments. She was a Managing Director of Paulson Europe LLP in London investing in European event, credit, distressed, recovery and merger arbitrage. While at Paulson Ms Gerowin also led successful lobbying of the EU over hedge fund regulation (AIFMD) and Paulson's corporate governance positions.
Ms Gerowin formed her own consulting and investing company, Mina Findings, Inc., completing five LBO transactions and participated in their direction as an officer and director. After their sale she consulted internationally. The five acquisitions included the largest packer and filler of anti-freeze in North America. Combined the companies returned 1,000% in seven years.
Ms Gerowin worked as an Investment Banker in International Mergers and Acquisitions at Lazard Freres in New York and Paris. She then headed the restructuring division of Dean Witter. Before banking she practised law for two years in Switzerland and New York.
Ms Gerowin has an A.B. from Smith College in Political Economy with honors, a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law where she was an editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law publishing on Foreign Direct Investment Regulation. She has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar and a finalist for the Copeland Prize. She is a recipient of a Doctorate of Humane Letters (L.H.D.) honoris causa from the University of New Haven.
She has been awarded 100 Women in Hedge Funds' European Leadership Award  and was named multiple times as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Finance by the Hedge Fund Journal/Financial News and was a Finalist for Dow Jones Financial News' Hedge Fund Woman of the Year. She was the keynote speaker for Dow Jones' Alternate Investments Conference in 2011. She has been a speaker at GAIM in Monaco and is a member of Policy Exchange, RUSI in the UK ,100 Women in Hedge Funds and the Business Council of Women2Win.
Ms Gerowin is fluent in French and conversant with working knowledge in German and Italian. She is a member of the New York and Federal Bars in the United States and holds securities principal registrations in the US and UK.
