Biography

Viv Ellis has been a Financial Investigator with the Metropolitan Police since 2012, and is accredited by the National Crime Agency. He specialises in recovery of the proceeds of crime in both civil and criminal investigations within the Met’s Serious and Organised Crime Command.

Viv joined the Metropolitan Police in June 2004, aged 40. His degree is in Business Economics and prior to joining the police his experience encompassed business and financial management, politics, the charitable sector and local government.

Having achieved Detective status he became a Financial Investigator in 2012, as well as asset recovery and criminal investigations, Viv works to improve links between academia and the police and also to develop efficient investigative processes through technology and training.
