Chris DiBona

Chris DiBona is an independent engineering leader based in the United States. He has been an advisor to RUSI since 2016 and was recently appointed a RUSI Senior Associate Fellow.
He was the Director of Engineering for Open Source at Google from 2004 to 2023, launching Android, Chrome, Go and so much more. He was appointed in 2015 to the US Commerce Department's Data Advisory Council. Previously, Mr DiBona created the All for good jobs site for the Obama administration and has written two books on open source. He is a limited partner with Rally Ventures and Mercury funds.
Mr DiBona holds a master’s degree in software engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
