Biography

Nick Clarke is the Founder and Chairman of the Curzon group of companies. He is a proven successful builder of businesses, with a focus in mining and energy, and has developed relations in Russia, China, and Africa.

After graduating from the Camborne School of Mines, Nick spent 3 years as an engineer for Schlumberger. He then transitioned to oil trading for 7 years and after spearheading his business to becoming the largest independent gas trading and marketing company, Nick exited the market in 2003 and sold all shareholdings to Macquarie Bank.

Nick then formed a carbon trading business, Carbon Resource Management (CRM), which became the largest trader in the world. He sold the company to Vitol in 2010.

Since then, Nick has been building Curzon Uranium, which is the number 2 or 3 trader in the world, with sales of more than 500M USD per annum. He is today the major shareholder of Curzon and sees his mission to help the nuclear renaissance decarbonise the world.

He has also built a portfolio of mining assets with Curzon Africa Holdings which includes nickel, iron ore and gold. Nick also has interests in energy security.
