Biography

Dr Rishika Chauhan is a MacArthur funded Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Centre for Science and Security Studies, based in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. Her research focuses on sanctions, with an emphasis on the Indian and Chinese perspectives.

Rishika is also a member of Uppsala University’s Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament Working Group 2, which works on International Measures for Compliance to Nuclear Disarmament Regimes. She has delivered lectures and conducted training courses on sanctions at several universities and organisations including King’s College London, Sciences Po and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

Her articles and chapters on sanctions have been published by Foreign Policy, The National Interest, The Routledge Handbook of the Political Economy of Sanctions (2024), Research Handbook on Unilateral and Extraterritorial Sanctions (2021), Routledge Handbook of Asia in World Politics (2017), among others.
