Gavin Bridge

Gavin Bridge is Professor of Economic Geography at Durham University and a fellow of the Durham Energy Institute. His research on the political economy of energy and natural resources has been funded by the US National Science Foundation, the National Geographic Society, the European Commission, the Economic and Social Research Council, the British Academy and the Leverhulme Trust. He is co-author of Oil (Polity Press), lead author of Energy and Society: a critical perspective (Routledge) and co-editor of the Routledge Handbook of Political Ecology. He currently leads a case study on critical raw materials within UKERC’s Geopolitical Economy of Energy System Transformation project.
