Andrew Almond

Andrew Almond is RUSI’s Senior Bids Manager. Andrew sits in the Business Development team and works closely with all of RUSI’s research groups to prepare high quality bids for research grants, contracts, and frameworks. Additionally, he works with the wider Business Development team to streamline processes, improve internal quality control mechanisms and share best practice on bids across RUSI.

Andrew joins RUSI having spent the last 10 years working in business development and bid management roles for INGOs of varying sizes. Most recently the Head of Programme Partnerships at United World Schools, prior to this Andrew worked for the International Rescue Committee and Save the Children UK, managing bid processes to gain funds from institutional donors such as the FCDO and USAID. This work has seen him travel extensively and work on projects in Bangladesh, the DRC, Jordan, Kenya, Nepal, and Nigeria, as well as others.

When not in the office, Andrew is based in Sheffield, where he completed an MA in International Relations at Sheffield University in 2021.
