Former UN Expert Group: New North Korea Sanctions Monitoring Organization Makes Difficulties in Activities

Aaron Arnold, a former member of the United Nations Expert Panel, told Radio Free Asia (RFA) on 16 March that the new monitoring organization for sanctions violations against North Korea will face legitimacy issues. He pointed out that this organization, unlike the UN Panel of Experts, does not operate under UN Security Council resolutions, which can lead to a lack of credibility in the eyes of many countries.
