Peter Quentin of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) think-tank said virtual reality was becoming an increasingly important military training method. He explained in the UK, there were several UK Ministry of Defence sites kitted out with “civilian gaming kits” where soldiers play “refitted civilian games”. Such methods were helping train soldiers cheaply and gather performance data – but Mr Quentin stressed physical endurance could not be tested in this way.
