RUSI analysts consider the implications of the hearings of the Coroner's Inquests into the July 7 Bombings

The Coroner's Inquests into the July 7 Bombings provided a unique opportunity to scrutinise the events preceding, and the emergency response to, the attacks.

In this Paper, four RUSI analysts consider the implications of the hearings: from their likely effect on the use of intelligence in judicial proceedings to what they revealed about the organisation and behaviour of the suicide bombers.

The Paper highlights how the Inquests brought new information into the public domain, allowing analysts and policymakers to enhance their understanding and plan for a better response to future such threats.
