Dr al Jaafari discussed Iraq’s Foreign Policy priorities, the role of Iraq’s neighbour states, and the country’s role as a vital component of Middle East regional order. In addition discussed the on-going battle for stability and security in Iraq as the Government makes preparations to drive Daesh out of Mosul alongside its coalition allies. He also discussed prospects for political reconciliation and accommodation in Baghdad between Iraq’s competing political factions.
Dr Ibrahim al-Eshaiker al Jaafari is an Iraqi politician who was Prime Minister of Iraq in the Iraqi Transitional Government from 2005 to 2006, following the January 2005 election. He has been Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2014.
