If the majority of parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty agree that it is the cornerstone of the global non-proliferation regime and is successful in combating the proliferation of WMD, the security interests of one – or a few – Nuclear Weapons States should not be allowed to preside over the security concerns of allies, other countries or the rest of the world.
