Prior to joining the RUSI publications team in January 2018, Stephen completed an MSc in Conflict Studies at the London School of Economics. He previously served as a Junior Policy Adviser at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the UN in New York, where he aided the delegation’s engagement with the UN Security Council and Peacebuilding Commission. He has also worked with the publications department at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC.
Stephen’s research interests focus on the international relations of Africa and the Middle East, post-conflict governance arrangements, and international organised crime. He has published on these subjects in journals at McGill and Princeton Universities.
Stephen also studied political science and international development at McGill University in Montréal, Canada.
